About…

I am a Quaker. I am also a Buddhist, in a Zen tradition, without the trappings. I am also a Druid Bard, from many years ago – there is no way of resigning from that!

I see no conflict between these belief systems. They all share very similar values, and can be practiced with the same lifestyle and priorities. Just to add to the fun, in some circles I used to frequent, I am known as Swami Nirav Sanket, a name conferred upon me at the Osho Ashram in Pune, india, in 1997. That doesn’t involve any particular beliefs, but like a good diet does not add anything to your life, it simply subtracts what does harm, or more accurately what self-harms one practices. So, in a diet, eat fewer carbs, fewer ultra-processed foods, and eat larger but fewer meals, and no snacks. In life stay calm, stay centered, and stay fully engaged in a positive way.

When I discovered that Quakerism, Pantheism and modern physics are a great trio that hardly gets any attention, I decided to set about doing what I can to put that right. As an eternal optimist, and I do mean eternal, I hope the knowlege and the beliefs that are the lifeblood of this website are able to draw people together, whatever religious or spiritual beliefs they hold. Anyone whose God is a character, a personality, separate from creation is not actually a Pantheist, they are known as Panentheists, and Christians are an example of that. They too will find much to agree with here, I hope.
